Funny you should mention boats impersonating luers. I had a 28 foot sailboat over in Italy that I cany cane striped the rudder with red and white antifoul. I took a hell of a razzing about it but, it looked real cool when I was heeled over and the deck was in the water! My rudder broke free a mile off an island north of Sicily and everyone joked that some giant fish thought it was a spinner Stressfull few hours getting back to port but, great stories afer.
