I know, I know. It's a stretch to call one a strip built. But still, it makes for an interesting contrast.
For the curious, the ship is the last in line of several being used as a break water at the mouth of the Snohomish River, near Everett, Washington.
Being flat calm, it was a great day to go looking for whales which must have been somewhere else. Late in the day we got into a large group of sea lions harassing a school of fish. One was not paying attention and nearly ran into us. Two eagles put on a show fighting over a bird carcass. After shredding and eating most of it, the first was forced to give it up but it fell in the water. The second made 3 tries at the sinking morsel but missed. To my surprise he settled on the water, folded his wings, and went fishing for it with his toes. And he made it, looking a little overhweight to shore. Hope he was dressed for immersion.
