I do a loop around Jetty about twice a week.

You have any shallow water problems? I've been out walking in the mud a few times not too far from where your photo was taken.

: I know, I know. It's a stretch to call one a strip built. But still, it makes

: For the curious, the ship is the last in line of several being used as a
: break water at the mouth of the Snohomish River, near Everett, Washington.

: Being flat calm, it was a great day to go looking for whales which must have
: been somewhere else. Late in the day we got into a large group of sea
: lions harassing a school of fish. One was not paying attention and nearly
: ran into us. Two eagles put on a show fighting over a bird carcass. After
: shredding and eating most of it, the first was forced to give it up but it
: fell in the water. The second made 3 tries at the sinking morsel but
: missed. To my surprise he settled on the water, folded his wings, and went
: fishing for it with his toes. And he made it, looking a little overhweight
: to shore. Hope he was dressed for immersion.
