: Whats the pink on the fore deck?

When I started this project for my friend Arica she wanted a Japanese style (Sumi-E/Ink Brush) Cherry Blossom design on the deck and the drawing at the top of the web site is the orginal design I came up with. The Pink that you are asking about will be wood inlaied Cherry blossoms. Orginally they were going to be dyed Pink, hence the Pink paper cut outs in the mock up, but I have decided after many dye tests that I won't be able to sand the dyed inlays prior to final glassing of the deck and will be using Paduk or Bloodwood inlays for the blossoms with some burned in blossom details.
Based upon your previous building experience any thoughts and comments you might have on doing this design would be appreciated.
