I’m sure you have made the right decision for you . I will mention once again my concern if it was me with a nice wooden boat with only one or two layers of glass on it. As you know when you are on a gravel road and the rocks flip up and hit your car they can chip your paint. I would worry about getting dents in the boat and scar scratches from rocks. And when you drive on a hot tar road or a newly paved road you get rocks and tar splatters. I trailed boats for 40 years and I know stuff hits them but mine were all fiberglass and there was no dent problems. I once hit a pipe while pulling my boat that completely destroyed my wheel and tire, so have a spare. If your out in the middle of nowhere or this happens on a Sunday with most stores closed you really have a problem. Also I saw an axle on a boat trailer that was burned off because they didn’t clean and grease the bearings. Anyway just my last minute thoughts. Good luck.
John
