There are two versions, one with 8" wheels and one with 12" wheels. Make sure you're getting the latter. The trailer comes via UPS in two boxes. Mine were shredded when they arrived, but fortunately, nothing fell out. The trailer assembles pretty easily, but it's time consuming. Figure on several hours for the basic assembly, then several more for the bed installation and side construction, if you decide to put sides on it.
A couple of caveats:
- The licence plate bracket is positioned where it digs into the ground when you lift the tongue of the trailer any significant amount. I haven't found a better way to mount the plate yet.
- Do not use the quoted torque specs when installing the wheels. They tell to use some ridiculous amount of torque, like 90 ft. lbs., which crushes the lug nut seats on the wheels. This can cause wheel wobble. Unfortunately, mine were trashed before I realized what was happening. They're serviceable, but I'm pissed that they give you such bad directions.
The trailer has worked well for general hauling, but I haven't modified it for carrying kayaks. The paint faded badly in a single summer (my trailer is now orange), but otherwise, I have no complaints. The folding capability is great!
