Thanks Dave, I appreciate your input. The deal you got on the BS1088 sounds great, I would go for that, too. I am up in the San Francisco region and only found one supplier in Berkely. The have 4mm okume from a french manufacturer and when I posted a question concerning them on the CLC forum I got a response from John at CLC that their 4mm is not good and has very thin face veneers. So I might as well go with the 5mm lauan and try to save weight by using as little epoxy as possible and putting a thinner layer of cloth on the outside. I guess I will do as Paul suggests and just start and see what happens. I guess I can get a Raka sample kit which will get me the epoxy for gluing the scarfs and sheer clamps fairly cheap, too.
