Hi-
I put a rubrail on my Guillemot. I wanted to accentuate the sheer, and separate visually the junction between deck & hull. I just ripped it out of some walnut a friend gave me and epoxied it on after doing the deck/hull joining. I think the rubrails look sharp, and are easy to do.

: It seems to me you could join the deck and hull with 'normal' method of just
: fiberglass tape. If it works out, then great, if not you should be able to
: put on a rub rail after words using tiedowns and tape to hold the rail to
: the kayak while the epoxy sets. I've never done this, so please don't act
: just on my words.
: However, I've also posted questions on joining the hull to the deck, in
: general I was told that alot can be done to get the two to come togeather
: well with fiber tape. So hopefully you (and I) will not need to add a rub
: rail.
: good luck
