Hope to see you there. I will be in the Guillemot Exp Single with the fresh varnish job. I seem to be the only wood kayak in the 19 mile race. I guess getting in and out at the portages can be hard on the bottom (hence the dings) There was a skin on frame boat two years ago that was incredibly fast (2:40). I do ok on the paddling sections but when I get to the half mile portages, the boys with the 30lbs kevlar racing kayaks go running by me and I start wishing I had used 4oz layup instead of the bomb proof Expedition layup.

Oh well its still a fun day and the view of Boston when you paddle accross the finish line is spectacular.
