: I'm interested in getting started on a S&G Guillemot hull that I can
: temporarily skin the deck (just like David Ross, I think) so I can use it
: this summer, then stripping the deck next winter. I don't know which way
: I'll do it, deck side panel or not. Any ideas?
I'm not too sure how much time I'm saving by doing SOF vice strip on the deck.
The other things is, I've abandoned the idea of stripping the deck next winter. The frames I made up for the SOF are glassed in now and I would make a mess of it trying to hack them out. I wouldn't want to leave them in because the frames are straight lines with the stringers dealing with the curves and (IMHO) strippers should have sleak curves.
So, committed to the SOF deck on this one, I'm taking my time to make sure it's right. I kinda made this deck up in my head so, there is quite a bit of fame trimming involved and 'making it up as you go' construction. Next year, I'll start earlier and make a full stripper (Or maybe a full SOF!)
The fastest way to throw a deck on (I think) would be a simple S&G deck that you could cut off later but, even that's a bit of effort.
I'd be happy to email anyone pictures of what I've done so far. I've tried to keep a good record of my progress (and lessons learned)
Drop me a note dmross@excite.com or bagarre@netvero.net
