Stop buy your local steel recycling yard and get some 1.5" wide square/rectangular tubing. Have them cut it to length. Just drill the mounting holes (unless it's the perforated type "sign" tubing)and replace the existing tung w the longer one. I just put a 6' tung on my bolt togeather ( 3.5x4) trailer to haul my canoe/yaks.
p.s If you don't have a steel yard around, most trailer dealers can order you 1.5 x3" trailer tung stock but it often runs $100 for an 8' section.

: I'm just about ready to order a the 4X8 folfing trailer. It has an overall
: length of about 11 feet whick must leave about 3 feet from the trailer tot
: eh hitch.

: In order to get hte trailer under the middle of my 17 foot G, I will need to
: have 4 to 5 feet hanging ofer each end.

: Anyone (expecially those with one of these bolt together trailers) see any
: reason why the tongue could not be exteded an additional 4 feet (to 7) to
: allow for 4 foot of boat overhand and 3 feet of clearance?

: Any suggestions on how to do it?
