: Shawn,
: I built a Gloucester Light Dory several years ago and it has worked out well.
: I built mine out of 1/4 marine plywood and it came in at about 90 lbs. It
: is a fairly easy boat to build, rows well with one person but can carry a
: couple more, and can handle exposed open water as most dories can. I have
: taken it out in Lake Superior several times.
: It was designed by Phil Bolger and if I remember right he said something
: like; "When I get to the Pearly Gates and St Peter askes me what I
: did that is worthwhile, I can tell him I designed the Gloucester Light
: Dory.
: Bill
I've built one also, and in the days when I was still imortal I took it out on the bay in some truly shitty weather. It was great!
