I have finished glassing the hull of my Guillemot-L using Raka 127 resin and 350 hardener on their new 5 ounce cloth. The cloth wet out easily and it looks very clear, even the second, football shaped layer on top. The epoxy was thin, but the smooth cloth made it easy to fill the weave with two thin coats. The only concern I have is that the epoxy seems a little soft. It cured properly because it looked normal when I did some sanding to blend the second layer at the edges. However, when I trimmed the edge off the cloth just seemed too flexible. It was saturated with epoxy and clear, but I expected it to be very stiff and it wasn't. I remember that when I was at the same stage with my previous boat using System 3 and 6 ounce cloth, it was hard to trim the edge because the saturated cloth was very hard. Is there a problem here, or is it my imagination? I would like to hear from other builder who have used this combination of products. If I had it to do over again I would put only one layer of cloth on or put two layers on the entire outside of the hull. It was a pain to sand the edges of the football shaped layer to blend them and make it smooth. Thanks for any input. Regards, Scott.

- Just let it sit a bit. It gets harder in time
