i'll have to get a htgun and try it out.
for real tight non compound or non reversing curves, i wonder if a cool(i guess hot!) technique would be to get 2 feet of that packing steel tape next time from say a lumber yard and CA or epoxy sand or sandpaper intermittantly on one surface. screw two 1" c-clamps one at each end.
clamp only firmly on the strip on the outside of the curve, heat the metal strap first and outside strip first(metal holds the ht) and then on the inside. then make the curve. i wonder how tight the curve would be.
if could make clamp wedges instead of c-clamp, may be real quick and maybe worth considering for real tight basic curves.
what type of heat gun or heat range? does the wood colour change enough to be concerned on appearance? will those areas have to be sanded a bit more?
