David,
Congrats from the board. Not to worry boats and marriage mix well. Simple truth is building a good boat and a good marriage require most of the same skills in common. Pick your plans well, build carefully. Sand carefully, apply steel even more carefully. Keep your forms true, Fair out the mistakes, keep at it, and most important know how to roll when the seas get big.

In the end, most spouses enjoy the creativity, and the fact that they get a new boat out of it once in a while.
