Build your strongback first. I used my external strongback as the outfeed table and made up a simple infeed table of some remaining plywood and some brackets.

I achieve excellent results with my bandsaw. I can achieve a 0.1 mm (0.004")accuracy for parallel cuts. Nevertheless I used my router to clean up my strips to be very accurate (0.001-0.002") and with an excellent finish. It makes life a little easier. Spend the time to tune up your saw and use featherboards! If you have a table saw (and I don't), you should definately consider it.
