Umm, not sure what you are looking at there. I've got no detailed stuff that is not in the pictures. Maybe you are seeing the reflection of the tape off the very end of the bow?

Me too!. Made from the leftover strongback from building the canoe, and leftover deck & fence planks. Yet it works really well, I can get right close to the kayak by moving the fence plank that is sitting on top. Store tools in and under the kayak.
