I'm looking at S&G because it's my first build & I've never done anything more challenging than assembling my home office furniture! Depending on how it goes, I might try a strip kayak later. The S&G version says at the bottom of the page that it's a challenging build to be undertaken at one's own risk, so again, maybe not right for my first build. Beautiful boat tho! I know CLC and Pygmy both have lots of S&G's; aesthetically I think I slightly prefer the Pygmy's but I'm not 100% sold.
