: Just finished the cockpit recess on this Guillemot S&G model. It went well
: using a Roto-zip to cut out the recess area, although I don't think I
: would recommend using a Roto-zip on a real kayak (too squirly). The blue
: masking tape is protecting the carbon covered hull from glue and
: scratches. I'm thinking of using carbon fiber for the combing to match the
: hull. I really enjoy building these models, mostly because of the busy
: lifestyle I live, I can take them with me where ever I go. I have had to
: give some away as birthday/Christmas gifts in order to justify building
: another, I've also been offered larger than expected sums of money to
: build model sized kayaks, but to this day, have turned down all offers. I
: guess I'm not the only one decorating their homes in kayaks.

Scott,
That looks really good. Putting the deck on to just replace the top panels looks better than I thought it would. I'm really happy you put that picture on up, I think I've just decided to build a second guillemot like your model.
Is you cockpit recess to scale, if so, then one of us is wrong The side of my cockpit is alot closer to the outside edge of the recess. (or rather it will be when I'm done) I'll double check mine.
I wonder how hard it would be to make a remote control model. you could put up a man with a padel and everything. (was that discussed before? hmm de-ja-vue)
Anyways, great stuff.
