Don't be alarmed. The cockpit opening on this model was not cut for the Guillemot combing. I was going to use the Chesapeake combing, but now I've decided on the carbon combing, as shown by Vaclav of One Ocean Kayak. The recess cutout was just estimated, not designed. On this model I tried to use as many different species of wood that I had on hand in order to see what they looked like under glass/epoxy. I think this one's gonna look great.
