Hi:
I am just about finished with a hybrid Chesapeake 17psLT (thats psuedo LT)-maybe 1 strip left on both sides to fill the gaps. I built from plans and built it roughly halfway inbetween the 17 and the LT version but also with a more upswept bow and more cut away stern for aesthetics.
I am stripping it without shear clamps but this will likely cause a slightly uneven joint between deck and hull requiring some slight epoxy fill.
I use 4-5 stations in front of the widest point and about 4 behind.
Stations are attached to stringers that I hotglued across the hull at appropriate points. The stations are basically the chord sections of a circle of the appropriate radius.
Wood are white pine mainly and dark western red cedar as accent.
The most difficult part to strip beside the initial shear strips has been the section where the radius transitions from the smaller radius in front of the cockpit to the bigger radius behind the cockpit. I did use staples but to speed up build time since my no-stape boat took quite a bit longer although its curves were more complex.
Good luck,

: Hi
: Does any one know of a design (or one suited)with a stitch and glue hull and
: strip deck - I remember seeing one but can not find it again (around 17
: ft. intermediate, suitable for choppy sea conditions)
: Thanks
