: I got part way into that but don't understand the preformed deck part, how's
: the flat ply going to be shaped? Honestly if making a hull out of four or
: more longitudinal panels makes sense from structural and paddling criteria
: then the same goes for the deck.
that all makes sense, its probably way too much hassle:
i was just thinking about say the front deck and that the centrline is flat. if this part of the deck was placed upside down on the workbench and the ctrline s&g'd down to it, would it be difficult to raise up the edges to the known curvature withscrap wedges. then glass the inside and say push on a 2nd layer at the hatch location. say a 2x2 pushing down on the ctr of this patch jammed from the ceiling above. with the glass and the hatch patch and maybe a deckbeam or 2, i thought that the deck would now handle like as one curve piece.
a second way would be to have 5 or 6 web clamps around the deck and cinch up until the approx curvature is met. slide in glass if wanted or just place the deckbeams on the weblines and jam from above - they would have to comform, if not tighten clamp.
then do the same for the stern part and mate them on the straight line. then attach to the yak.
i guess all the hatch stuff would be less complicated, and the deck beams would be bonded well but all that is probably way way too complicated.
