well, it's right outside...ok sorry,,
Imagine a slot about 1/8"-3/16" wide and about 1/8"-3/16" deep for about a foot on the bow and stern at the high wear spots, made it with that little screaming hole saw, held carefully with the frame(?) at it's shallowest position. Masked the area all the way down to the sheer with clear packing tape. Soaked the cord (it's like a super thick shoe lace 3/8"-1/2" hollow braid), put it in the slot,then laid the 2" wide packing tape crosswise on it tight to the deck. You have to be careful to keep the tape from flopping it off center. Looks pretty nice. If the slot isn't big enough the cord will fold over the side. I figure it will require a little fairing but after that the hull is glassed with only one more strip of bias cut glass over that it's done. I'll be really embarrassed if the boat falls on it's stern sideways and a foot long chunk of cord breaks off but I don't think that's likely with the glass over it and half way in the wood.
