I don't think that is true.

Most epoxy makers know their product. If you follow their instructions carefully
you will not have problems.

I use System Three resins. They have told me to wash ONLY with water. To wash
down new epoxy before recoating (after 72 hours) or before sanding.

I can't remember the last time I had fish eyes.
