I'll second/third/fourth ... this suggestion :-) It has worked very well for me. Like Mr. Rehd, I have only used this for making small glue/putty joints, so the fish eye problem has never , uh ...., surfaced :-) I'm able to get the syringes at the local drug store (10 cc), but they make you sign your life away for them. They are about 25 cents a pop.
As for the bottles, I recently found that the same type bottles (I used a "mustard/ketchup" set from Wally World) work well for urethane glues. While gluing up the deck on my Sea Spirit, my brand new bottle of TiteBond Urethane glue cracked on its side. After pouring the glue into the mustard bottle, I found it gave a nice thin bead down the edge of a strip. I imagine yellow glue would be the same. Probably not good for long term storage, but useful for the short term.
