I had to use several 1/4" wide strips on my Outer Island. I also used some 1/8" trim strips. On one hand I liked how easily they bent. On the other, it was a pain to deal with all the glue squeeze out when it was necessary to lay more than one strip at a time. Given that, in retrospect I wonder if I could have done a better and cleaner job using super glues. Do super glues have a place in our kayak building endeavors?

: I find that narrow strips look more interesting the narrower they are. With
: 1/16" wide you can glue them up and follow immediately with a wide
: strip to hold in place. Or you can glue the narrow strip to a wide strip
: on your workbench and then plane it down to any width you want or have it
: taper to nothing.
