Considering alternatives to cam straps on a Pygmy. Prefer to stick to external mechanism. Any comments on how "hatch dogs" work for sealing, convenience, looks? I'm thinking of just half-dowel sections bolted through the reinforced rim in the deck around the hatch, held in place by friction. Will they get knocke open by a wave if there is no catch?
