Mike,

The branch inlay is Clear Heart Redwood, resawn to take advantage of the flat swirly grain. the pieces are 1/4" thick and the strip thickness of the deck is 3/16". This way they can be glued in with a bit exposed and sanded back to the level of the deck. The wood for the blossoms hasen't been picked out yet but I saw some Madrone Burl that looked really promising last weekend.
