Hey Lee
You'll find that the router gets a bit ( no pun intended ) easier to handle with the smaller bits and shallower cuts. Just keep your arms/wrists on the project to steady the tool and take out very shallow cuts, which is what you were looking at anyway. You should be able to handle it..... with some practice. I don't think that buying a laminate trimmer will be justified by a small job like that. But, that's a personal issue isn't it???
