Hey You Guys:
I don't think I was very clear in my question. I'm not talking about an actual stip. What I mean to describe is the fancy, schmancy 1/4 inch wide, 1/32 inch thick borders/in-lay. I've only ever seen them in antique or antique look alike table tops. They generally have patterns within the strip. The only place I know that sells them is Constantines (on the web). Wish I could be more specific.
Thanks, Mike
: Hi Mike, I've never gone that thin. I have some scrap pieces that are about
: that thickness and they could be glued-in no problem. Sandwich a long
: strip between it and the clamp so it doesn't go wavy on you. Put plastic
: tape on the clamping strip.
: I've experimented with ripping after it's been glued (mentioned earlier) with
: mixed results - you don't always get a perfect thickness... or rather, I
: don't always get a perfect thickness... that way
: A strip that thin might be hard to see on your boat; it may just blend in
: from 3' away. You could just rip to 1/16" or even 1/8". It's
: pretty easy. Clamp a sacrificial fence over your metal fence when you
: start to get that close.
