: If the hot glue does not seem to be holding, it may the type of hot glue. I
: trust you are using that which is formulated for wood. I find that hot
: glue does not hold well to any masking tape that may be on the forms to
: protect them. Are you applying glue between the strip and form or are you
: running beads on both sides of the forms against the strip. I find this
: works well. Once you have two strips on the boat, they create a laminated
: strip that will hold the shape better and you will have more surface area
: for hot glue. You may also try holding the strip down for a period of time
: with clamps while the hot glue sets up fully.
Rod, I'm using the general purpose type of hot glue, one bead on one side of each form. I'll get some of the wood type and try that. Should I be concerned about getting things too well stuck to the forms?
Tom, I used the bend and tape method on the hull with good success. Wonder why I just couldn't see how to get it to work, but I know it should...Guess I have a case of the "Paralysis of Analysis" And Spring fever. The lakes are free of ice wanna get paddling...I'll just have to use my old plastic one for now!! Thanx all for the help. Steve
