Sometimes this is true, but since I've be using a seal coat I've found no real time difference.

It all depends on how you time your work.

You will want to apply resin at the end of the day to revent off gassing of the wood.

If you glass without a seal coat you must have the extra time to lay out, smooth out and trim
your glass before wet-out. Then wetting out the glass and wood, plus squeegeeing off the excess
and going back and monitoring the glass for any straved spots adds hours to the process.

If you apply a seal coat one night, the next day you don't have to rush the glass lay-out and wet-out or go until 2 am.
