I had less success trying to use a heat gun to bend the strips for the SS stern. It is probably because my wood is kiln dried. I really toasted my first strip but it did sand out OK. I tried to go staple less on the stern section but gave up. What worked for me was soaking the strips in hot water and then setting the clamped and stapled (small nails) stern section on my wood burning stove until it dried out. I am stripping the whole stern section (both sides) at the same time while Rob does it a half section at a time. After a few strips I remove the stern form section from the glued together strips and then replace it so it will easily remove when the whole thing is finished. Doing it Robs way it seems that another staple less way of doing it might be to lay the half section stern forms on the floor, lay on your wet strip and then lay a heavy barbell on the strip until dry. Clamping has been a real problem for me. I feel like I am clamping an octopuss.
