Hi AJ, I had an alignment problem with my rear stem mold and had to persuade it back into alignment. I mounted a triangular frame to the strongback over the offending form and forced things back in place. It's not an uncommon problem.

1/4" is not bad; I've heard of much worse than that. You're lucky to have caught it so soon. It sounds like none of these strips will be below the waterline. Here's a shot of the triangular frame; it is to the far left of this picture.
