I routed bead and cove edges on the strips. I actually planed the strips about 1/32" thinner than 1/4". I honestly think that my Wee Lassie canoe required at least twice as much sanding as the Guillemot I am working on at this time. On the canoe, I had to start sanding using 40 grit paper due to the undersize strip sections. Any undersize strip section required the adjacent strips to be sanded down to it's level. On the Guillemot, passes with 80 grit did the job in no time.
