: Hey Rehd,
: The Canadians had two stations closer to the epicenter. They are claiming a
: measurement of 5.5.
"Imperial Shaker," no doubt ??
We usually get our best readings from UCLA as they have some of the best equipment around and can pinpoint them suckers from near cross country.
: Rehd Round these parts surf the earth means you have a snow board on your
: feet and the powder is high. But I gotta say when you and Darren surf the
: earth.....WhoooooaH! You folks really literally surf the earth.
: Its funny, I have a degreee in geology and for years have wanted to
: experience one. Years ago I was spelunking in a cave in PA that leeched
: open on a small ground fault. Were were 220 feet down and we felt like a
: truck drove over us and there was a big wind in the passage and the walls
: seemed to snake. My caving buddy and I talked about it being like an earth
: quake. When we got out and were getting out of our mud duds we heard on
: the radio that a 4.0 had occured about 70 miles away.
Moments to ponder: what if that fault had moved and ?? closed up! Wow!! A real Depends moment!!!
: When I worked in Newport beach CA. Earth quakes happened everytime I returned
: east. So I never got the York peperment patty sensation.
What!! You moved every week??
: I was down in the shop and looked around some of my chisels and clamps that
: were not put away appear to have danced a bit. I guess grid wall as shop
: tool storage is good for other reasons I hadn't considered.
: Hey Rehd haven't caught up in a while what are you building these days?
Er..uh.. well, I'm putting a new roof ( S & G plywood ) on the humble abode, as well as a new A.C. unit, and today ( this weekend ) I'm adding a 12' extention on the front porch w/roof extention included. Sorry, nothing too exotic lately.
When I can, I'm sneaking out in the garage to tidy up the inside of my Rob-Roy canoe so I can glass the inside and add the gunnals and be done with it. She's looking really good, just don't get to work on her as often as I'd like.. If I could just get someone in here to wash the dishes while I sneak out and play.... In the evenings I'm playing with DreamWeaver 4.0 and learning how to do HTML and build a Web Site so I can start showing off my work. I told Joe Greenley last year that I was going to catch up with him.... soon... and build me a beauty as well. Uh, I'm falling a bit short of that goal for this year, and there's still two boats in the planning stages. Haven't gotten away from it for sure, but repairs sometimes take presidence as I'm sure you know.
: Man I have to go to the coast to find rollers. You cats can set the yaks up
: in your driveways and surf da earth.
Yeh, well, they aren't all so glamorous as they are Cracked ( as in my driveway ) up to be. But, most of us get used to them!!

Thanks for asking, and I hope all is well with you and yours!
