Yes, you're right you must be careful to hold down the minicell if you
work with power tools on it, because the stuff is so resilient you can
launch your own space shot if you're not careful.

I use large spring clamps to hold down the piece I'm carving to a sink cut out
fixed to the top of a feed stand which puts it at about 35" high.

It's always worth the time and effort and SAFETY to set the work piece at a comfortable
height.
