: Hey Myrl,

: No, it's not for a scarf joint. It's for stitching the panels together. The
: plans recommend a 45 degree bevel. Since there isn't a lot of twisting or
: curve involved, I think a uniform angle will work fine. It's less for a
: snug fit than for a neat line where the panels come together. Any gap on
: the inside will be filled with the fillet. Your idea of a guide piece
: clamped to the panel will work for the places that the panel is straight.
: Unfortunately, it will be curved in places. I may have to just draw a
: pencil line and wing it.

You may be able to bend the guide to fit the clamps at both ends should help it hold shape fairly well, If you have a line for the edge of the guide strip you should see if it was off or not.

I suspect the earlier posters are right, 'winging it' will produce pretty good results. I liked the idea of the angled piece of wood on the plane it should work very well. providing you can screw (or some type to temporary glue?)it on

It would just be a wedge that would go under the flat surface of the plane. have it end around 2/3 of the way to the blade.

Ok, I never could to ASCII art, that would sort of be a view looking down the end of the plane, with the triangel being the wedge that is attached to the plane. the 'x' side would be looking into the back of the plane. the angled line would be the 45 degree angle
that the blade would make to the bottom of the plywood.
the "Ps" are the plywood

hmm, hope you have a good imagination
