Epoxy: pigment, microballoons, paint question

hey gang gotta question, I'm painting the bottom of the Merganser and was planning on a pigmented final fill coat under the paint. I've done it before on the inside of a kayak to make it brighter in the compartments and reduce the number of coats of paint required to cover the dark wood and am satisfied with it's utility for providing a homongenous base color for light paints. It makes scratches a lot less noticable in the cockpit. My question is whether adding a slight amount of microballoons along with the pigment, I've got white microballons, will have any detrimental effect on paint adhesion. My experience with painting on epoxy is that it's possible for some small areas to peel right off when masking tape is lifted. I figure this might make a decent sandable primer for fairing and a base color, any thoughts?
