: - Where your stitches are, insert a short section of dowel under the wire
: before you tighten it. It will hold the panels in the proper relationship
: to each other, giving you an even joint.
: - Tab glue the seam(s)
: - Fill the gap on the outside

i remember playing around with this idea a while back, but didnt know if it would be any good. as it works, i imagine dowel diam is best slightly less than the stitch hole separation. ie if the holes are 1/4in form the edge, prob. abt 3/8 dowel might be the desirable one.

for the outside, until posting back and forth w/ lee a few weeks ago, i hadn't realized that rounding the outside was important, and that this can be achieved by sanding the mitre and putting filler on inside or leaving the square edge gap and using that for rounding. so for the sharper transitions, the outside dowel would tend to sit in the gap and keep centred. i would imagine that the larger, the better up until the hole spacing as well. this is a cool idea, and would help in the alignment, but keep the inside clear for longer tabs or the continuous seam techniques (removing the wires later).

good one, thanks
