: In an enlightened moment,I have come up with an alternative to adjusting
: Yakima footbraces with your toes. I have designed a simple cable release
: system that will allow you to move the footbraces forward or backward with
: a simple tug of a cable from the cockpit. Each brace positioner can also
: be made to latch open- for operating a rudder. Braces can be retrofitted
: on existing installations, if the footbrace assemblies can be removed
: temporarily from their tracks.
: I don't know how many kayakers would be interested in this modification, but
: any who are can email me at the above address.
because sliding rudder pedals are hard to brace withe and easy to put big stress on a whole system of possible breaks:
instead of the constant pull/release for the rudder, why not attach a hinge flap on top of the now fixed peg like kajaksport and feed the rudder lines thru the top edge of the hinger down around the peg(hingeline or below to the front of the rack.
then you have the constant adjustment with the pull on the lever release, but with solid footpegs every where you release, as well the additional function as a continuing auto adjust footpedal. the foot pedal will work whereever you want it to automatically.
