: Paul, I didn't like the sharp edge on the Pygmy coamings either. I rounded
: them over by sanding them, which worked fine. I did it after putting the
: fiberglass on, but you could probably do it before glassing.

: If you don't want the coaming to be so thin (I didn't, because I my tie down
: points for my straps sometimes end up across the coamings, especially on
: my Osprey double), you can get a second top coaming piece from Pygmy for
: about $10. I laminated two together and rounded the coaming with
: sandpaper. With the double thickness, I probably could have used my router
: with a shallow roundover bit, especially if I had gone ahead and glued it
: on the to kayak first (via gluing it to the lower coaming).

I did my Tern per instructions and it worked fine going into breaking one foot
waves on top of 4 foot swells. It also came off for the wet exit. I would say of all the coamings, it is time and looks is the issue.
