I think you should be OK, but what you want to do is probably different than what I did.
I printed a photograph of myself on inkjet photo paper (fairly thick) and added some text like "built and owned by....." and put it under the glass on the back of the forward bulkhead facing into my cockpit. No runs, no drips, no errors. That was my way of discouraging theft (along with locks, etc).
Anyway, inkjet ink behaves a bit differently on photo paper than on other types of paper, but the main culprit in running and smudging is water. I suggest you print up something and test it on a piece of scrap. You'll proably be OK, but the test will tell you for sure and give you a bit of practice in working with whatever kind of paper you have in mind.
