: I recessed my cockpit using directions in Nick's book. It was easy and looks good. I t made dealing with the peak easier.
If I had a chance to do it over, I would make a much smaller cockpit than the Great Auk plans call for. It is very comfortable getting in and out, but the spray skirt caves in pretty easily because it is so large. And I haven't figured out how to install knee braces. I doubt if it is able to be rolled because of both issues. The book has dimensions for the Guillemot cockpit.
