Ken,
I recently started to stow my hydration system behind my seat. I run the tube up under my sprayskirt and out the top. I find that I am better able to stay hydrated using this system rather than water bottles. My rear bulkhead is about 1 1/2 inches behind the cockpit rim on my Great Auk. My seat back is about 3 inches in front of the cockpit rim, giving me about 4 1/2 inches storage room. Think about maybe storing your camera in a deck tube in front of the cockpit. The paddle float can go under the front bungees, folded back on itself to make sure it will not wash off in heavy water.
You can always add an extra bulkhead and have a day hatch behind the seat also.
The only ice we have here in South Carolina is in our iced tea.
Paddle more, be safe, and live long
Ronnie
