I found that my scraper worked well on the normal wood glue drips but was causing some wood tear-out when I tried to scrape off the hotmelt glue. Couldn't get the wood surface clean without really roughing it up.
The best way that I found to remove hotmelt glue from the hull was with a modified putty knife and a heat gun.
I ground/polished a bevel on one side of the putty knife blade sharpening it into a 1" wide, flexible chisel.
With a bit of experimenting, I found that by preheating the blade [to just below the glue melting temperature] and warming the blobs of hotmelt glue slightly, I could slip the sharpened putty knife under the glue removing almost all of it from the wood. Clean-up went well, took about half an hour to remove "4 sticks" worth of hotmelt glue from the hull.
