What I did to avoid that kind of problem was to lay out the glass on the hull, trim it and then pull it straight with my hands flat, pushing out all the little wrinkles - spent about 1/2 hour doing just that. Then let the glass rest for half a day, just sitting on the hull and kind of getting used to the shape - I don't know if that was important but it worked fine
Used 5oz Raka on a CH16.
