: Geez, I hope I didn't steer anyone wrong about the tacky epoxy thing. Having
: built 4 boats this past year, rolling the glass cloth onto slighty tacky
: epoxy worked just great for me. I'd used that approach before on other
: projects.

altho' not the consensus, could you explain a litte more about this technique?

do you think the general concern is that the glass will not totally wet out? did it wet out for you?

the questions i'm also interested in are: in general terms is the whole of the yak tacky or just some areas? and especially does the glass stay tacky even when the new layer is being glassed also.

for example if you had a difficult area to keep the cloth down, would the tackiness continue to keep the cloth down, or does the tackiness sort of get diluted w/ the new epoxy.

how easy is it to control the tackiness? like in very general terms, does the tackiness you would use for this last for 1/2 hr or up or down etc. does the tackiness mean that the seal coat is put on too thick or uneven?

do you know if anyone else uses this technique. (i think !russ does?)

-thx
