I've done all my boat building in a basement where the temperature and humidity is controlled and consistent. That probably has a lot to do with the ease I've had rolling on fiberglass cloth to a slightly tacky deck or hull.
All I do is wait until the saturation coat is almost hard, has just a SLIGHT tacky surface. It will still take a fingerprint mark but leaves no residue on my finger. I'd apply the saturation coat in the morning (I use RAKA) and by the evening the epoxy was in that slightly tacky state that allows my to roll on the glass cloth and still be able to lift it and smooth it down. Then I just apply the first fill coat on the cloth. I've had zero problem with gooey mess or epoxy curing/hardening issues. It's pretty much eliminated wrinkles and lifting at corners or angles. Works for me. Caveat Emptor.
