How "tight" is too tight for a spray skirt? On my boat (panache) the skirt is more difficult to release than other boat/skirt combos I've used. I'm think this is due to one or more of
a) skirt is too small
b) combing lip needs some work
c) I've just got to get used to the "peak" at the fore end of the panache combing.

Is there some kind of test or rule of thumb I can use to tell if it's too tight? The lip to deck clearance is 3/4 inch, the lip itself is 3/4 inch wide and 1/4 inch thick.
